How to Use the Man/Worker Down Feature in OK Alone

What is Worker Down?

The Worker Down feature uses your phone’s built-in sensors to detect if you have stopped moving. If no movement is detected within a set period, the app triggers an alert to ensure your safety.

This feature helps protect workers who may become unconscious or incapacitated by automatically notifying your assigned monitors if you don’t respond.

How Does Worker Down Work?

  • You set a timer between 3 minutes and 1 hour to define how long the phone waits before considering you "down" due to inactivity.

  • When no movement is detected for the set time, the phone will:

    1. Sound an alarm on your phone to alert you.

    2. Prompt you to confirm you are okay via the app.

    3. If you don’t respond, the alert is escalated to your allocated monitor.

    4. Your monitor will then follow the escalation procedure to check on you and provide help if needed.

How to Set Up Worker Down

  1. Open the OK Alone app and select Worker Down from the menu.

  2. In the Worker Down settings:

    • Toggle Worker Down On.

    • Choose the movement timer duration that suits your work environment.

    • Select the sensitivity level for movement detection:

      • High Sensitivity detects small movements like sitting or minor shifts.

      • Low Sensitivity requires more significant movement like walking or running to reset the timer.

  3. Tap Save to apply your Worker Down settings.

  4. Important: If you change Worker Down settings while on shift, press the Check In button on the main menu to update your settings with Ok Alone.

How to Turn Off Worker Down

  1. Go to Worker Down Settings from the app menu.

  2. Change the toggle from Worker Down On to Worker Down Off.

  3. Tap Save Setting to confirm.

Tips for Using Worker Down Effectively

  • Adjust sensitivity based on your phone model and activity level to reduce false alarms.

  • Test the feature before your shift to ensure it works as expected.

  • Always press Check In after making changes during a shift to sync your settings.

  • If you get frequent false alarms, try lowering the sensitivity or increasing the timer duration.
