1. Overview
Out of Hours Alerts ensure that any lone-worker alert occurring outside your normal business hours is immediately sent to a dedicated set of monitors. This helps you maintain 24/7 coverage without disturbing your regular on-duty team.
2. Prerequisites
-
Communication Plan: You must have the Comms Plan feature enabled.
-
Admin Rights: You need permission to edit Settings and Monitor assignments.
3. Define Your Business Hours
-
Log in to the Ok Alone dashboard.
-
Go to Settings > Business Hours.
-
Set your company’s Start and End times for each weekday.
-
Click Save.
4. Add Out of Hours Monitors
-
Navigate to Settings > Out of Hours Alerts.
-
Click Add Monitor.
-
From the dropdown, select one or more staff members who should be alerted outside business hours.
-
Click Save to confirm your selection.
5. How Alerts Are Routed
-
During Business Hours: Alerts follow your normal Monitor assignments.
-
Outside Business Hours: Any alert triggered will be sent to your designated Out of Hours Monitors via the same channels (SMS, phone call, email, or Teams/WhatsApp if configured).
-
Combined Coverage: If you need overlap (e.g., early-morning handover), adjust your business hours accordingly to ensure seamless alerting.
6. Testing Your Configuration
-
After saving your settings, trigger a test alert outside of your defined business hours.
-
Verify that only the Out of Hours Monitors receive the notification.
-
Make any necessary adjustments to your business hours or monitor list.
