How to Setup Alerts in a Microsoft Teams Channel

Prerequisites

  • You must be the owner or have connector-management rights for the chosen Teams channel.

  • A Teams team and channel dedicated to Ok Alone alerts (only include staff who need access).

 

Create and Retrieve the Channel Webhook URL

  1. In Microsoft Teams, navigate to your target Team and Channel.

  2. Click the ••• (More options) next to the channel name and select Manage channel.

  3. Switch to the Settings tab, then click Connectors and choose Configure next to Incoming Webhook.

  4. Enter Ok Alone Alerts as the webhook name.

  5. (Optional) Upload the Ok Alone logo to help alerts stand out.

  6. Click Create.

  7. Copy the generated Webhook URL by clicking Copy.

 

Configure Channel Notification Preferences

Ensure all team members can see alerts:

  1. In the Teams channel, click ••• and select Channel notifications.

  2. Set All new posts to Banner and feed.

  3. Confirm and save.

 

Enable Teams Notifications in Ok Alone

  1. Log in to the Ok Alone dashboard.

  2. Go to Settings > Extra Features.

  3. Toggle Teams Notifications on and click Save.

 

Assign Webhook to a Monitor

  1. In the dashboard, navigate to Monitors and select the monitor who should receive alerts.

  2. In the monitor’s settings, paste the Webhook URL into the Teams Notifications field.

  3. Confirm the monitor is assigned to the correct Teams channel and click Save

Verify Alert Delivery

Trigger a test alert (e.g., simulate a missed check-in) and confirm the notification appears in your Teams channel:
