How to Change the Alarm Tone for Reminders on your iPhone

Overview
To ensure you hear your Ok Alone check-in alarms, choose an audible tone that stands out. This guide walks you through selecting a new alarm sound within the Ok Alone iPhone app. Make sure your device volume is turned up and that your phone is not on silent before you begin.

1. Access the Alarm Settings

  1. Open the Ok Alone app on your iPhone.

  2. Tap the Menu icon (☰) in the top-left corner.

  3. Select Alarm from the list.

2. Preview and Select a New Alarm Tone

  1. In the Alarm screen, you’ll see a list of available tones.

  2. Scroll through the list and tap the Play button next to each tone to hear a preview.

  3. When you find a tone that you can clearly hear, tap on its name to select it. A checkmark will appear beside the chosen tone.

3. Confirm Your Selection

  1. After tapping your preferred tone, verify that its name has a checkmark.

  2. Exit the Alarm screen by tapping the back arrow or swiping down.

  3. The selected tone is now set as your default alarm for check-in reminders.

4. Verify Volume and Silent Switch

  • Volume:

    • Use the side volume buttons to increase your ringer/alert volume until you can hear test sounds.

    • Alternatively, go to Settings → Sounds & Haptics and drag the Ringer and Alerts slider to the right.

  • Silent Switch:

    • If the small ring/silent switch on the left edge of your iPhone is set to Silent (orange visible), you will not hear alarms.

    • Flip the switch so that no orange is showing, or enable Emergency Bypass on your Emergency Contact (see Help Center article “Get Alerts when iPhone Is on Silent”).
