How workers use OK Alone 2023

Step 1: Start Your Shift

  1. Open the Ok Alone app (mobile, desktop/web), or call/text in.

  2. Enter your PIN or follow the prompt to Start Shift.

  3. Your check-in timer begins counting down immediately.

Step 2: Check In at Regular Intervals

  • Your timer alerts you when a check-in is due.

  • Tap Check In (or reply “OK” via SMS/landline) to reset the timer.

  • Continue working until your next scheduled check-in.

Tip: Customize your reminder sound or vibration in Settings for maximum visibility.

Step 3: End Your Shift

  1. When you’ve completed your work for the day, tap End Shift at the bottom of the screen.

  2. The check-in timer will stop instantly.

  3. You can log back in and start a new shift at any time.

Step 4: What Happens When a Check-In Is Overdue

  1. Grace Period: After the alarm sounds, you have a short window (grace period) to check in.

  2. Reminders: If you don’t respond, you’ll receive follow-up SMS or call reminders.

  3. Still No Response: The system marks the check-in as missed once reminders lapse.

Step 5: Missed Check-Ins and Monitor Response

  1. Monitor Alert: Your monitor (or Live Monitoring team) receives an immediate alert.

  2. Contact Attempts: They’ll call, text, or use any configured channels to reach you.

  3. Escalation: If you cannot be reached, help is dispatched to your last known location.
