iPhone Location & Permissions

Ensure the Ok Alone app has the correct permissions and settings on your iPhone for reliable check-ins and accurate location tracking. After any changes, restart the app and any active shifts. If issues persist, reinstall and accept defaults.

1. Recommended App Settings

On your iPhone, open Settings > Ok Alone and confirm these are enabled:

  • Location: Always

  • Mobile Data: On

  • Background App Refresh: On

2. Recommended Notification Settings

  1. In Settings > Notifications > Ok Alone, ensure:

    • Allow Notifications: On

    • Alerts: Lock Screen, Notification Center, Banners

    • Sounds: On

    • Badges: On

3. Recommended Location Settings

  1. Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Ok Alone.

  2. Set Allow Location Access to Always.

  3. Enable Precise Location.

  4. Under System Services, confirm Call Emergency SOS (if present) is on.

These ensure GPS Normal monitoring—accurate coordinates in emergencies with minimal battery impact.

4. Restarting and Reinstalling the App

  • Restart the App: After any permission change, force-close Ok Alone (swipe up in the app switcher) and reopen, then end and restart your shift.

  • Reinstall: If settings still don’t apply, delete and reinstall the app, accepting all default permissions when prompted.
