Android Location & Permissions

Granting the right permissions helps Ok Alone track your location accurately in an emergency while minimizing battery usage. By following the recommended settings below, you’ll ensure you’re always monitored effectively.

1. Recommended App Settings

  1. Open Settings > Apps & notifications > Ok Alone.

  2. Tap Permissions and confirm Location is Allowed.

  3. Tap Notifications and ensure Show notifications is turned On.

2. Recommended Location Settings

  1. While still in the Ok Alone app settings, tap Permissions > Location.

  2. Choose Allow all the time to enable background tracking.

This setting lets Ok Alone update your GPS coordinates even when the app is closed or running in the background.

3. Recommended Notification Settings

  1. In Settings > Apps & notifications > Ok Alone > Notifications, review each notification category.

  2. Make sure each category you need (e.g., Check-In Reminders, Help Alerts, System Messages) is enabled.

  3. For critical alerts, enable sound and pop-up on screen if your device supports it.

5. Restarting and Reinstalling the App

  • Restart the App: After applying new settings, swipe Ok Alone away in your recent apps list and reopen it, then end and restart any active shifts.

  • Reinstall the App: If settings still aren’t applying correctly, uninstall Ok Alone, reinstall from the Play Store, and accept all permission prompts.
