Discreet Help Alert Options for Android

The OK Alone Android app offers multiple ways for workers to discreetly request help in an emergency—without needing to unlock their phone or open the app.
These methods allow quick and subtle activation, ideal for high-risk or sensitive situations.

Discreet Help Alert Options include:

  • SOS Power Button

  • Shake for Help

  • Android Shortcuts

1. SOS Power Button

What it does:
Lets you trigger a Help alert by pressing your phone’s power button multiple times in succession.

How it works:
When enabled, OK Alone monitors your power button presses. A specific sequence—such as 3 or 4 presses—sends an instant Help alert to your monitor(s) with your GPS location.

Benefits:

  • Works even when the phone is locked

  • No need to open the app

  • Ideal for discreet or hands-off emergencies

2. Shake for Help

What it does:
Lets you activate a Help alert by shaking your phone strongly—no button presses or screen interaction required.

How it works:
When you shake the device, OK Alone starts a 20-second countdown with a vibration and notification.

  • If it’s a real emergency, let the countdown continue—your Help alert will be sent automatically.

  • If it’s a false alarm, open the app and tap Cancel Help.

3. Android Shortcuts

What they do:
Android shortcuts let you trigger Help or Check-In actions directly from your home screen, without opening the OK Alone app.
This feature provides another discreet, one-tap method for quick access to safety features.

Example:
Long-press the OK Alone icon on your home screen to see a menu of shortcuts:

Available shortcuts:

  • Start Shift – Begin your shift monitoring instantly.

  • Get Help – Immediately trigger a Help alert.

  • Check In – Send your regular safety check-in.

  • End Shift – Finish your current session.

Tip:
Add OK Alone to your home screen dock for instant access, even if your phone is locked or on standby.
