Testing Your ZOLEO Device with OK Alone

Before testing your ZOLEO device, make sure the following setup is complete:

  1. Your ZOLEO device is registered with a valid ZOLEO account.

  2. Your ZOLEO account is linked to OK Alone.

Once setup is complete, you can run the following tests to confirm communication between ZOLEO and OK Alone.

 

Test One – Using the Check-In Button on Your ZOLEO Device

  1. Go outside to ensure a clear view of the sky.

  2. Short-press the Check-In button on your ZOLEO device.

  3. This will start a session in OK Alone and include your current location.

  4. It can take a few minutes for the data to transfer to OK Alone.

Important:
Before running this test, make sure you do not have an active shift/session in OK Alone.

Expected Result:
You should see a new session appear in OK Alone within a few minutes, confirming that your ZOLEO is sending data correctly.

 

Test Two – Testing OK Alone’s ZOLEO Mode

  1. Go outside (with a clear line of sight to the sky).

  2. On your phone, enable Airplane Mode.

  3. Open the OK Alone app and tap Start Shift.

  4. Since you are offline, the app will prompt you to “Use ZOLEO.”

  5. Tap Use ZOLEO.

  6. The OK Alone app will switch to the ZOLEO app to send your status update.

  7. Once the message is sent, return to the OK Alone app.

Important:
Before running this test, make sure you do not have an active shift/session in OK Alone.

Expected Result:
Your shift should show as started in OK Alone, confirming that the ZOLEO message was successfully sent and received.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Ensure you have a clear view of the sky for a stable satellite connection.

  • Wait a few minutes for ZOLEO messages to sync to OK Alone.

  • Verify your ZOLEO account is linked correctly to your OK Alone worker profile - both IMEI and ZOLEO number.

  • Confirm you are messaging the correct regional OK Alone number.

If your tests do not appear in OK Alone, repeat the process once more or contact support.
