Change your Alarm on Android App

The Ok Alone Android app includes a default alarm tone to capture your attention for check-in reminders and alerts. You can customize this alarm to any sound available on your device. Follow these steps to select a new alarm tone.

Overview

  • By default, Ok Alone uses a built-in alarm tone for notifications.

  • You can replace it with any audio file or ringtone stored on your phone.

  • If you change the alarm, restart the app and any active shifts to apply the update.

  • If settings do not take effect, reinstall the app and accept default permissions when prompted.

Steps to Change Your Alarm Tone

  1. Open the Ok Alone App

    • Launch Ok Alone from your home screen or app drawer.

    • Make sure you’re signed in and, if applicable, have an active shift running.

  2. Access App Settings

    • Tap Menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.

    • Select App Settings from the menu.

  3. Locate the Alarm Sound Option

    • In App Settings, scroll down to the Alarm Sound section.

    • Tap Alarm Sound to open the list of available tones.

  4. Choose a New Alarm Tone

    • A dialog appears showing your phone’s ringtone library and any custom sounds.

    • Scroll through the list and tap a tone to preview it.

    • Once you hear a sound you like, tap OK (or Select) to confirm.

  5. Save and Test

    • After selecting a tone, return to the App Settings screen.

    • The new alarm name appears under Alarm Sound.

    • To test, tap Test Alarm (if available) or wait for the next scheduled check-in reminder.

  6. Restart the App and Shifts

    • For the change to take full effect, close the Ok Alone app completely (swipe it away from Recent Apps).

    • Reopen the app and, if you had an active shift, end and start it again. This ensures the new sound is used for all subsequent reminders.
