Check In Frequency for Monitors

Assigning the correct check-in interval ensures Workers are monitored according to the risks they face. Use this guide to categorize Workers by risk level and configure their check-in frequency in the Ok Alone dashboard.

Risk Categories and Recommended Intervals

Before configuring check-ins, determine each Worker’s risk level based on their job tasks and environment:

  • Low Risk (4 hours)
Suitable for Workers in stable, low-hazard settings—for example, administrative tasks in an open office.

  • Medium Risk (2 hours)
Applicable when Workers operate independently but encounter occasional hazards—for example, traveling between multiple job sites.

  • High Risk (30 minutes)
Required for Workers in hazardous conditions or remote locations—for example, field technicians working near heavy machinery or in isolated areas.

Tip: If a Worker’s job involves varying risk levels (such as alternating between office work and field visits), consider setting a shorter interval or manually switching to High Risk when they enter a more dangerous environment.

Configuring Check-In Frequency

Follow these steps to set or change a Worker’s check-in interval in the Ok Alone dashboard:

  1. Open the Workers Page

  2. Edit a Worker Profile

    • Locate the Worker whose check-in frequency you want to adjust.

    • Click the pencil (✏️) icon next to their name.

  3. Access the Check-In Setup Section

    • In the Worker’s profile, scroll to Check In Setup.

    • Click the dropdown menu under Check In Frequency.

  4. Select the Desired Interval

    • From the dropdown, choose one of the following options:

      • 4 hours – for Low Risk

      • 2 hours – for Medium Risk

      • 30 minutes – for High Risk

      • No Timer – if the Worker does not require regular check-ins (requires Extra Features).

    • The Worker’s new check-in interval is immediately selected.

  5. Save Your Changes

    • Click Update Setup at the bottom of the profile.

    • The system applies the new check-in frequency for all future shifts.

Removing or Disabling Check-In Timers

  • If a Worker does not need a recurring timer, select No Timer from the dropdown.

  • Ensure No Timer is enabled in Extra Features under Settings → Extra Features → Dashboard Features before assigning it.

  • Remember that omitting a timer means Ok Alone will not send periodic check-in reminders; use this only when your workflow does not require a timer.

Verifying Check-In Settings

  1. Start a New Shift

    • After saving, instruct the Worker to begin a new shift in their app.

    • Confirm that the check-in reminders occur at the selected intervals.

  2. Monitor Upcoming Check-Ins

    • On the dashboard, click Workers → [Worker Name] → Upcoming Check-Ins to view the next scheduled reminder times.
